Beat Jazz

Jazz is perhaps one of the most influential contributes to the Beat Movement.  If fact, the “Beat” of jazz music is partly responsible for the term coined to describe the bohemian renegades of the 40’s and 50’s.  Poetry readings that were typical of this era were often read as lyric to soft jazz playing in the background.  Jazz comes in many different styles that are molded by the character of the artist.  Bebop, commonly referred to as bop, was the style of interest during the Beat Movement.  This site is constructed in honor of the inspiring musicians of bop, and to recognize its significance in an important counterculture movement.
